Le Chateau is a luxurious B&B resort near Port Stephens. It is to the official nudist beach Samurai Beach close. The 4 spacious suites have a different theme, private bathroom and forest view. Credit cards are accepted. Pets and Children are not allowed. Affiliated with the ANF.

As long time naturists and full time teachers in Adelaide, our dream of establishing a nudist facility in South Australia took an unexpected turn in 1974 when an advert for 100 hectares of land with 1.3km of beach frontage caught our eye.

Not only was the property much larger than we had been seeking, it was 350 kilometres further south also, nearby the old seaport of Robe. However we were so captivated by the breathtaking beauty and the tranquil atmosphere of the area that we were soon persuaded that this was the place in which to concentrate our future.

After a successful scramble for finance we procured the property and named it “Sunland” and Australia’s first (and still the only) ocean beach nudist resort, was born.

Thirty years of part time work went into building the necessary camping ground infrastructure for holiday guests and revegetating the drifting dunes that lie behind the foreshore.

When we retired from teaching in 1994 we moved from Adelaide and built our home at Sunland. This enabled us to continue the development full time and share our patch of paradise with other naturists from around the world.

Take a dip, swim some lengths, play some water volleyball or perhaps cool down and relax in the pool or sit back sunbathe, read a written book, have a chat with old or new friends, if it gets hot then why not sit under the pool gazebo too

Take a relaxing dip in the spa to ease your muscles after your bush walks, beach walks, playing games or perhaps to refresh yourself after a long day sun baking.Chat with old frieds or make some new friends.

Pure some eucalyptus on the hot rocks and breathe easy, enjoy the heat to relax you and refresh your entire senses and your body.Sit and relax or have a good gossip back

Bush Golf

A Sunland version of golf, for all known levels, especially “the never played before” as we would like you to have fun here.

We have mowed the weeds on 2 of our paddocks and added some building blocks (we’ve painted numbers on them as well), all you have to do is hit the blocks with the golf ball (golf balls and limited clubs provided).

The first paddock has the first nine blocks and the second paddock (we call the back nine) has the last nine blocks (the 19th hole is when we have happy hour near to the clubhouse).

We do not take the golf seriously and no tee’s are allowed, if you hit it in the bush and can get it out then that’s what we do with no penalties, if fact there are really few rules.

Every year We do however have a golf tournament that we hold.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is the hub of Sunland.For morning coffee This is where we meet, “happy hour”, meet ups for games of golf, petanque, tennis all the activities for many people who wish to partake. In the evenings we have games nights, quiz nights, bingo nights, sing along nights or maybe dance the night away playing music, a game of left, right, centre is fun and a great ice breaker always. No experience for any of the games is needed, we think of them as ice breakers and friend makers (though sometimes we do play for sheep stations). We have shared meals and the BBQ area is at the clubhouse also.

If the full nights get cool, then we can have an open fire in the clubhouse which gives everyone a great homely feel, but be warned drinks time and flow flies when your having fun.

We have bonfires when the weather and restrictions permit often, toasted marshmellows or an invention we have not mastered yet is ice cream cones filled with marshmellows and chocolate drops yummy (the bonfires are not in the clubhouse, but we do eliminate the night in the clubhouse).

Amenities Block

Enjoy a nice hot shower in our amenties block (or cool down on the hot days), the girls and gents toilets are either side of the shower room.

The amenities block is where you will also find the free washing machines (though not much clothes washing is done here).You tend to have a good chin wag and catch up with friends or make new types here. You will also see the days and nights activities on the notice boards here for the day and coming days, or if you need to organise an activity then you can do so here, all activities are also “shouted out” during morning coffee and “Happy Hour” so if you need to join in you should be informed, but remember no activity is manditory.
