Entry
The passport is enough for Germans, Swiss and Austrians to enter Mexico. However, this must be valid for at least six months still. If you are entering the United States, please also note the entry requirements there about the necessary travel documents.
The tourist card “FMT” You get on the plane or at the border crossing points or advance from your travel agent. This must be filled in truthfully. If you do not know the specific length of your stay, have the card issued for 90 days as a precaution, otherwise only 30 days shall be entered and there will only be a one-time extension afterwards. At the Instituto Nacional de Migración you can have your residence permit for Mexico extended by a further 90 days after the three months.
You hand in the original tourist card when you enter Mexico. It is imperative that you keep the copy until the final end of your trip to Mexico, as this is required when you leave the national country, even during road checks in Mexico sometimes.

- Current passport photos
- Photocopies of passport, credit cards, insurance, etc.
Visa
If you want to stay in Mexico for more than six months, a visa is needed by you. It is to inquire about this at the Mexican embassy in Germany best.
Tip: Always complete all the formalities – for example, there is not a border control at the U.S. border. Make sure that an entry is got by you stamp when entering Mexico!
